Paul in Lineage shop
Born from a passion for craft, Lineage was started by Paul Hansbarger and is based in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The story of Lineage began with a simple request from my then pregnant wife for a diaper bag for our soon to be born daughter. Since then, more designs have come together, constantly refining and redesigning, while family and friends have asked for a bag of their own.
The idea behind Lineage was a return to roots, to work with my hands to create simple, stylish, and durable bags and accessories for utility and everyday use. To craft useful products with the best materials possible, cut and sewn in the USA  and ultimately, that could stand the rigors of everyday life and be passed on to our children.
Lineage bags and accessories are designed, cut, sewn, hammered, punched, and riveted one at a time in our Harrisonburg, Virginia workshop using hand tools and industrial sewing machines.

Lineage uses waxed cotton canvas and water repellent canvas from Fairfield Textiles in Bridgeton, NJ, and vegetable tanned leather from Hermann Oak Leather Co. in St. Louis, MO and Wickett & Craig in Curwensville, Pennsylvania. Both waxed canvas and vegetable tanned leather will take on a patina, soften and darken over time with everyday use. This is all part of the story of your bag and where its been.

Lineage guarantees the workmanship, quality and materials of its products. If there is a defect in our manufacturing or materials, we will repair the bag or item at our discretion. Normal wear and tear, abuse, and cosmetic damage which do not affect the functionality of the item are not covered. Shipping expenses are the responsibility of the customer. Please email for any questions and instructions regarding a bag repair.

Please keep in mind that handmade products may include slight cosmetic imperfections that do not affect functionality of your bag. These simply add character and make each product one of a kind.
Returns are accepted for new, unused items for exchange or store credit. Please email for instructions on returning an item. Customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Custom-made items are not returnable.

Retailers are encouraged to email for a linesheet and wholesale information.
